I have ACID 4.0 and I use MIDI DEVICE(US-122) with Audio interface.
I bought microphone and it's plugged in the device...

I got 2 problems with it:

1) Sometimes when I start recording(press start), my computer get's frozen immediatly and restarts by itself.

2)When i record, from time to time, microphone makes a weird sound(sounds the same as when you plug in speakers)... after I stop recording on those places where microphone made sounds, my voice gets lost - it's like half second is erased... so I can't really record anything! :(

I spent a lot of money on that and I really need it working as soon as possible!
Someone PLZ help!!

1) Look into updating any drivers for any hardware in your system. Try also turning down or even turning off video acceleration.

Be sure you have the latest update to ACID 4.0.

2) Not sure here. Have you tried a different microphone?

Be sure that your hard drive is in good working order. (Do a scandisk operation and disk defrag from time to time, about every two weeks or so.)

#1: Try the other drivers and see if the problem goes away. I've encountered similar stuff when using the ASIO drivers with a 224. Then you can see if its the driver. Some USB stuff is hard to get going. Also, like Iacobus said, make sure you have the latest drivers.

#2: Sounds like a bad mic cable.

I had a computer crush and now it's fresh and clean...

It's much better, but!

What I think it's the problem with MIDI DEVICE, because while I am recording I use phones and todat I just listend to sample in ACID in phones through the MIDI DEVICE and usually it goes foe 20-30 sec and then starts poping... I have to stop the track and start it in few sec and it's normally again!

Also I connected keyboard and recorded from it and I had the same problem as with microphone.

Also, before I used a cheap microphone, but I recorded on it through input in the soundcard and it works fine(I just need a better qualitiy).


I have the instruction of MIDI DEVICE and it's FAQ, it gives only few the one's I don't need and it says in there that others FAQ and forum on their site - www.tascam.com, but on the side their forum section and FAQ is down... :(


So, my idea is that it's something wrong with MIDI DEVICE! but what is it I don't have any idea... :((
