Subject:Sonic Foundry & E-MAIL VIRUS!

I'm not sure if this is a joke, a mistake or what, but I got this odd e-mail that seemed to say Sonic Foundry had tried to send me a virus in something called SONY: SONIC FOUNDRY NEW LOOPS SEPTEMBER 2003. It looks like my ISP caught the suspicious e-mail and refused to deliver it, 'cuz of the virus/worm. Has anybody gotten anything like this? (The mail had the subject: RAV ANTIVIRUS SCAN RESULTS.) the mail said to let the sender (sonic foundry) know they might be spreading a virus. if anyone has ANYTHING to offer on this, please do; I have no idea what's going on. (P.S. I took out some of my personal info, e-mail address etc., from the following. Weirdly, the "by <not disclosed>" and "to<not disclosed>" appear just the way they did in the actual e-mail.) ----------------------- DATE: Fri, 05 Sep 2003 14:24:49 -0700 This e-mail is generated by our mail server to warn you that the e-mail sent by <not disclosed> to <not disclosed> is infected with virus: UNAUTHORIZED_MAIL_CONTENT. My initial guess is that your ISP's mail server is a little too sensitive when scanning for problems. It probably got an accidental positive reading from something in the email that SonicFoundry sent. I'm looking through my copy of the same email right now and don't see anything particularly suspicious, but then i don't know what RAV ANTIVIRUS might be looking for. Probably your ISP put their filters on hypersensitive while dealing with the recent blaster, sobig.f, and welchia outbreaks.
