I'm trying to fine tune the removal of camcorder motor noise using Noise Reduction, so I captured 2 mins of AVI-NTSC video with nothing but black video and the noise, which was 442Meg. I opened the file and performed 5 noise reductions using different settings on 5 second samples, with one untouched sample. Since this was only 30secs, I trimmed the video and saved as a new file. The new file is 926Meg!! So this video is 1/4th the length yet its double the size of the original. Anyone know whats going on here? I want to run all my noise reduction on these uncompressed AVI files so that I have the best quality masters, before they get editted and converted to other compressed formats. Am I doing something wrong in SF/NR? Thanks... |

It sounds like you may have rendered using the "Uncompressed" template. Try rendering with the "NTSC DV" template and the file size should more closely match the original. Ted |
