Subject:Whenever I try to record, ACID 4.0 freezes

I recently reformatted my drive and installed acid 4 flawlessly. When I try to record however, the whole thing just freezes up.

I press the record button, then start, and it does NOTHING. What's wrong?

I might check the Direct X video drivers version. My system would freeze until I updated my directx upto at least 8.1. I think 9 is out.
Just a thought

You may also want to update the drivers for your sound card and video card. Driver updates are available from the manufacturer's website.

To add to what's been said, if updated drivers don't work, try turning video acceleration down or off. (Try turning off the record monitor meters as well to see if that helps whittle down the problem. If it does, it could be video causing it.)
