Certainly looks attractive. Per usual, be aware of the limitations of USB 1.1 audio (which I believe is what the Ozone uses). If I had a choice, I'd probably go for the MiaMIDI plus a keyboard like M-Audio's Oxygen8. It might be a little more expensive, but you'll gain balanced 1/4" TRS and S/PDIF in the process. You're usually limited to one 24-bit/96 kHz stereo stream, playback or record but not both when recording via USB 1.1. Compounding the situation is you're usually not allowed to monitor while recording even when using a lower resolution and/or sample rate. (Believe this is all driver dependent though.) If this isn't too much of an issue for you, go for the Ozone. If you want more flexibility, go for the MiaMIDI/Oxygen8 combo. Thanx for the info MD. At this point in the game I'm really not sure if that would be an issue or not, based on my limited knowlege at this point in the learning game. I'll probably go with the Ozone to keep things less complicated(and cheaper) , and if I find out down the road that this affects me much... well I'll just take the plunge and buy a MiaMidi or something else. Thanks again! Regards, Kev |
