Subject:Point of view on Bus Tracks

Hello everybody in the forum.

I have a question on bus tracks. I'm not a newbie on Acid, but i'm wondering how do other acid's users work with bus tracks. In general, i create around 4 to 8 bus tracks group by family of sounds and type: Drums, bass, synths, etc... My goal it's to take profit of better quality for mixing levels, but to use my pro audio card a luna2 and its plugins. To record all the bus, i use the audio record, which in fact drive data through the card, digitally. Is there a better way, and a way to use the plugins and the abilities of my card.
Thancks for the answers and good vibes to all.

Hello setfan,

I usually use the Bus Track view when I want to assign a group of tracks to a specific task, whether it's to effects or to a bus, or other tasks such as panning.

Not sure I understand the second half of your post on recording. You really can't do anything with the recording (like bus assignment) until you're done recording.

Well Iacobus,

Thancks for the beginning of reply. I don't know what is your hardware and software configuration, but for mine; i use as i wrote in my first message a luna 2 audio card. You have "true" bus or drivers in which your audio bus went through, without affecting each other. i can use particuliar plugins delivered on my audiocard and they can be used on this bus. Each bus of acid go through the bus of the audiocard, as on a true console in a studio.
you assign different sub-mix to simplify your mix and assign as in Acid, Fxs on the audio. Well, i always worked on acid with that bus to have good dynamics, precise sounds and less distorsion as you can have when you assign too much sound to a simple two "left+right" channel. To record these bus, i never use the render, i record all the session as if i was recording a new track as for recording vocals, guitars.
I hope that you will better understand me with these new explanations.
Read you soon,
Setfan

Sounds like you're on the right track. (pardon the pun)

So you route specific tracks out through a specific bus to the Luna's hardware? This would be ideal, especially if you wanted to use the Luna's on-board effects.
