I do suggest that you try to keep your Waves limiter at no more than ~5 dB gain reduction though. If your mix is not loud enough, you should consider compressing individual tracks harder. FWIW - the UAD-1 card has some neat tools for mastering. I like the LA2-A and Pultec as they have lots of personality and follow them with with the Wave L2 as the last thing in the plug-in chainer. This seems to work well for a most things I've done lately. I actually intend to spend some money on professional mastering in the future though - for the bigger projects.
