Hi everyone ! I wanted to know how to create new drumloops by mixing the sliced beats from the original one ? (I heard we can do it with the Beatmapper or the Chopper) I think I must do it in the chopper but I don't know where to click... Thx in advance for your help !!! |

Maybe my question isn't clear... I heard we can slice a drumloop (I know how to do it) and I heard we could mix all this sliced samples randomly but I don't kjnow how to mix it so I waste a lot of time rearranging the sliced beat... I hope you'll answer. Thx |

Do you want to simply bounce down what you've created? Use the Chopper as usual, then once you've arranged the drum loop the way you like it on the timeline, solo the track and place the Loop Region (it's the element above the timeline that has a dark gray horizontal bar with yellow mark in and mark out points on it) over the area you'd like to bounce down into a new track (and thereby creating a new loop if it's short enough). Use CTRL+M with the "render loop region only" option enabled. Note that bouncing and creating loops takes into account the tempo and key of the overall project. If you need/want more info, post back. Thx for your answer, but I quite don't understand the word "bounce down" (I'm French so sorry)... but I tried to do what you told me and it's fine. What I want to know now is if there's a easier and faster way to arrange the sliced beats of my original drumloop on he track. For instance, if I slice my drumloop in 6 sounds, there's a lot of combinations to create a new loop ; so hasn't Acid an option to random the sliced beat ? Thank you. |

Bouncing down is simply a term for mixing down several tracks into one newly-rendered track. It's also called "render to new track" in ACID. ACID doesn't randomize the arrangement of, say, six different events like you want, but the process sounds intriguing. I wouldn't mind having a media pool (à la Vegas) where I could drag my chopped events into for easy dragging back onto the timeline. If you want rearrange a group of events, I would quickly copy the set and then move them around as I saw fit. You can copy by either holding down CTRL while dragging and event or use the standard Windows commands for copying and pasting (CTRL+C and CTRL+V respectively). If you use the first method, ensure the Draw Tool is selected. (CTRL+D on your keyboard.) You can also quickly cycle through the set of tools by pressing D repeatedly. You may also select multiple events by holding down CTRL plus clicking on each event you want to copy before pasting elsewhere. Will do that. Remember, though, that the Media Pool in Vegas works on the idea of having the entire file in the pool available to add to the project, not just a snippet or event of the file. If SoFo found a way to just be able to add an event to a Media Pool in ACID Pro rather than the entire file, that would make me quiver with glee too. ;o) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Sounds like HH wants an automated chopper instead of having to manually slice and move things around. In that case, I would use a tool designed to slice and rearrange into new/random patterns. Two come to mind: BeatCreator = http://hem.passagen.se/novelty/English/frames.html Tua2 = http://www.brambos.com/screens.html |
