Hi, just set-up my keyboard and midi cables. Got the recording fine in ACID 4, but I have a few questions. a) The volume seems quite low. I've adjusted volume input on sound card but when I hike the track volume it's still not booming. Anything I missed? b) It's using a pianoroll as a sound during playback. It sounds nice but can I download other sample sounds or can I simply hear the sound of the actual keyboard? c) How do I apply effects to the track after like reverb or res filter? The option isn't there on the track's bar. Thanks Faye |

Hi Faye, a) I take it the MIDI track is being routed through a soft synth of some sort? If so, go into the Mixer and under the respective soft synth, adjust the output fader there. That should help. b) You can change patches by double-clicking the soft synth's icon in the Mixer (or use ALT+8 on your keyboard) and then simply clicking a desired patch. When the MIDI track routed to the soft synth plays back, it should use the patch you've chosen. To hear the sounds your keyboard can produce, you will have to record digital audio instead of MIDI. To do that, you'll have to output your keyboard (using the typical 1/4" outs) to your soundcard's line input. This is all dependent on your hardware. (If you mention the soundcard you have, I may be able to help out.) c) You cannot use FX on MIDI tracks themselves but you may add them to the soft synth you've routed the MIDI track to. To do so, just click the synth FX button for the respective soft synth in the Mixer. (It looks very similar to the button used for digital audio FX.)
