Subject:Can Acid record Giga loops?

Being new to both gigasampler and Acid, I'm hoping someone can help with this question. If I'm in gigasampler and have several loops at different tempos, is there a way to record them into Acid, change them all to the same tempo then get them back into gigastudio and map them to different keys? Both programs reside on the same PC. Any answers to any part of this question would be appreciated!

If it were me, I would read the manuals if I couldn't figure out how to adjust the loops to the desired tempo in giga.

But thats just me.

You can't adjust the tempo of the loops in giga. That's why a program like Acid exists. I was hoping someone has had some experience/tips on working the 2 together. If the answers were in the manuals, I wouldn't need to post the question to the board. But that's just me.

I can't exactly help with Gigastudio.

I can think of a couple of ways to ACIDize.

-You could play the loops (separately) in Gigasampler and record in ACID. (You'd have to select your soundcard's software mixer as recording input.)

You could then bounce whatever you had down. ACID will automatically ACIDize (i.e., add tempo and key info) the bounced down sample.

Of course, you'd have to know exactly what the tempo of the original loop is as well as key. When bouncing down a sample into a Loop, ACID takes the project's overall tempo and key information and applies that to the newly-created Loop.

It might also be helpful to access the track's properties and adjust stretch markers under the Stretch so that the new Loop will sound pretty good and different tempos. (You'll want to add markers to subdivisions of a beat you feel need accenting.)

-If you have Sound Forge (full or Studio), you can use its ACID Loop Creation Tools to create and ACIDize a sample for use with ACID. Again, it's helpful to know the originally intended key and tempo (the exact number of beats is very helpful) for the sample.

If you were to use Sound Forge, I'd still recommend that you go into the track's properties once you get the Loop in ACID and add stretch markers; ACID Pro is the only app that does this (IMHO) important step.

In Giga, all you have to do is play the sample on a different key to change tempo. From there you adjust the tuning in Giga or Acid.
