Subject:Recording audio off DVD

Got a friend that wants to use closing credits soundtrack off a movie on a commercial DVD for a part of his wedding. I play the DVD in my laptop PC with a cable from the headphone jack going to the line in of my Blaster card in my desktop. ACID doesn't "see" the audio signal...yet it plays through the desktop speakers.
Any thoughts on how to record this?

You'll probably want to try selecting the specific input for recording under "record device" in the Record dialog window. If you can't, be sure to check out the Audio tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar.

Choose a specific driver model (like "Windows Classic Wave Driver") and then a specific output for playback immediately underneath.

If you've done these steps, try a specific resolution and sample rate for recording (like 16-bit/48 kHz or 24-bit/96 kHz; I can't remember offhand what DVD audio uses.)

Be very careful with copyrighted material. Keep it legal.
