Hello Everybody,

I'd like to convert NTSC-Audio (I mean audio from a movie with framerate NTSC23.976 or NTSC 29.970) to PAL. I guess I should use the time stretch feature in Sound Forge 6.0, but what are the right values to fill in ?

First of all, does the audio need to be changed? Usually NTSC <-> PAL conversions run at the same speed. The only common exception is when NTSC 23.976 is sped up slightly to match PAL 25 without frame resampling or vice versa. However, most transfers keep the material at the same speed so the audio shouldn't have to be changed.

If it does have to be changed then the values would depend on the change in frame rate. Going from 23.976 to 25 is 1.0427 and going from 25 to 23.976 is 0.95904. I doubt you'd want to change from 29.97 to 25 though since that would be an extreme change and probably quite unpleasant.

@chienworks

I want to convert from NTSC23.976 to PAL

Is "Time Stretch" out of the PROCESS-Menu the right function ?
If YES, it will let me choose:

- percentage
- tempo (bpm)
- time

where to put the value 1.0427 as described from "chienworks" ?
