Then get a Mac G5. Is this true? an S.F. Developer has created Soundtrack for G5, had a look at the specs, awesome, but not for PC?

Got any substantiation, documentation, literature, web links? Your statement alone doesn't mean much.

No, Sonic Foundry had nothing to do with that.

"Soundtrack" is basically Acid Music Lite for Mac OSX. Nice loop search engine for scoring which Sony could learn a few things from.

Which reminds me, I saw something called "Acid Blast" as a periph for a Sony Vaio laptop...any relation..?

I believe that's an old licensed Acid Music Lite that Sony thought would be fun for kids. Part of their failed Screenblast! utility app series.

There is a review in Computer Music the new October issue, also gives a link to www.apple.com/uk. It certainly doesn't look a lite version, includes avi. I quote from the magazine...Emagix are now part of the Apple family, but they were'nt the ones who developed sountrack, rumour has it that the driving creative force behind it is on of the guys who worked on SF Acid. Oh well..

perhapsif it works on a mac it may just be taken seriously and in the future we might just get version of a looping app that is pro both in use not just in name and mabybe if we wish hard enough it might just work straight from the first install not just one whole year of unpaid beta testing later !

one of the original developers of acid now works for apple = soundtrack is acid 2.0 pro for the mac.

but it's no threat to me, i'm not spending two grand on a new mac just to run acid 2.0...er soundtrack

heck i can run the real acid 2.0 on my old imac with virtual pc.

although that G5 is NICE...

Jeez, did SonyFo copyright ANYTHING of the Acid intellectual property? Guys are coming out of the woodwork ripping it off left and right and Madison just shrugs.

Actually, I like mD's stuff. I'd be curious to hear some of your work. Since I like his music, I'd be in awe listening to yours, right? Please don't tell me you don't have a link for any. How dissapointing.
By the way, an artist putting down another artist's work... how LITTLE of you.

Oooo-WEE! Did I open a can of worms or what?

"sea of mediocrity"? You mean how ACIDplanet has more potential talent in their collective pinky fingers than most artists' entire bodies on major record labels?

You can insult me all you want. (I'd prefer you call me The King of the F--kheads, thank you very much.) I just wish you were a little more professional about how you conduct yourself here, Victoria.

The only reason why I responded as I did was because I get tired of those that put down Sony for their good efforts. (As an aside, you don't have to use SoFo anymore; the forum is moving to Sony Pictures Digital soon and the applications are going to be branded likewise.)

There are those of us who use ACID Pro professionally just fine. To suggest that just because you can't use it in the capacity that you wish doesn't mean the rest of us can't. *shrug*

And, hey, I do try to help out those who are having trouble with ACID Pro. I just can't try and help you if all you do is come on the forum and whine.

Right on, mD! The "sea of mediocrity" is FM radio, not AcidPlanet. There's an amazing amount of creative work going on there. And, 'professional' or not, there is a serious difference between 'non-professional' and 'unprofessional'.
Professionals make money at it. Non-professionals have fun with it. Unprofessionals just whine and throw insults because they don't have the brains or talent to do either.

sorry md its taken a while to get back to this but just to correct you i did not say that acid planet was a sea of mediocrity just your links and believe me we do laugh ! at the moment im working on a remix (paid)track that may take 40 licks or so if you bright enough to know what i mean, but everyone gets low points
you and your ameteur tracks cheer us up once again i thank you

ps you say that you do not use midi well you should. Thanks

LOL

You really know how to make enemies, don't you, Victoria?

You are nothing but a troll to me. Either contribute to the community or don't even bother.

mD, don't let her get to you. Every forum has it's loser who is just trying to stir up trouble. Don't take it personally and don't dignify her posts by responding. That's all she wants. She probably dislikes herself more than we do. Maybe her nick relates to her physical appearance?

Thank you for the support, John.

I'm actually finding it more amusing than anything. I've had a run-in with our good friend Victoria before (as have other users). One has to wonder why she sticks around if she doesn't like Sony's apps so much. Victoria?

Jeez, no kidding. I've looked at some of her posts all the way back to '99 (when YOU were helping her out, mD) and she's been bitching and moaning ever since. That's one unhappy person. One unhappy person with a lot of time on her hands, for someone supposedly a music professional. Not that we've seen any proof of that. Oh, well, I find this forum extremely valuable anyway. This way, it's kind of like dinner AND a show!

It would be a huge loss for the Acid community if Iacobus wasn't around to help forum users out.

I can't figure out WHAT I would lose out on if Fatdrums was to stop posting on this forum.

there have been many trolls that only seem to demead and discourage, but its best to just ignore them, they look ignorant enough.
