Thank you very much Groovewerx for replying. I tried what you said but to no avail. I run WinXP and so I did the ctrl-alt-del and went through the system processes and shut down what i thought might be effecting it but again I got the same message. It doesnt freeze either when Im converting the files. I use CoolEditPro to convert files. It seems to complete the process then at the end it informs me that I have a process still using the apllication that uses WMA and therefore it cant make a WMA file. When I use AcidPRO to convert it comes up with the error message as follows..."An error occurred while creating the media file Step To The Beat.wma.Error 0xc00d0bc2(message missing)"
If anyone can recommend a remedy to fix this then please help me. I think my remix is worthy of a chance to win the remix competition and I desperatly want to upload it so it has a chance but as ACIDPLANET require a WMA format I am unable to do this. Please If anyone can solve this problem then please please help me. Otherwise is ACIDPLANET willing to accept MP3 format only? Im open to all suggestions. Im tearing my hair out on this. Thanks again to Groovewerk for the reply

The detail help a lot -- I searched the Knowledge Base for 0xc00d0bc2 and came up with this:
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/support/SupportProduct.asp?FamilyID=2&Family=ACID&TopicID=2&DetailID=1438

You had also mentioned a metadata upload problem. Usually this message should appear, who knows why it didn't -- just one of those things (sigh). Anyway follow this and if you still have a problem mail Dave Hollinden.

"Error: We could not add metadata information to this file.

Metadata information refers to the title, artist, copyright, etc.
information that is stored in a song file. We tried to take the information
that you entered on the upload page and add it to your song file as
metadata, but were unable to do so. This problem can occur if you have
already added this information to your file prior to encoding it.

Please try removing any metadata information from your file and encoding it
again. To do this in ACID, select Properties from the File menu, and remove
all of the information on the Summary tab for Title, Artist, Copyright,
etc."

I hope this helps and good luck on the contest!
