Record on a record? As in a vinyl LP record? You'll need a record cutting machine and a record press. These are very expensive items. Also, recording is done on a special master substrate and not directly on vinyl so you wouldn't be able to record on an existing record. The vinyl copies are pressed from a metal transfer plate made from the master substrate. For that matter, existing records probably have very little space left on them so you wouldn't be able to add much.

All that aside, i'm guessing what you are asking is if you can add your own voice to an existing song. Generally you would accomplish this with multitracking software. SoundForge isn't multitracking; it only uses a single mono or stereo track. However, you could play back the original song in MediaPlayer or any other player software, use your sound card to mix in your voice through the microphone input, and record this combined signal in SoundForge. Better yet, look at a multitrack application such as Vegas.

A bit of a messy concept, as it's not what a stereo editor is designed for (Vegas LE would be more appropriate).

But you could play the excisting rack in, say, Media Player, while recording that combined with you soundcard inpu, if your soundcard mixer applet allows that routing.

***Later *** Ooops, didn't read that Cheinworks just said pretty much the same thing ;-)
