Subject:SF 5.0 Playback is incorrect. Posted by: luces Date:8/18/2003 10:07:42 PM I just got finished recording a test vox in AP 4.0e. It was a mono recording @96/24. The problem is that when I play it back in AP 4.0 and Media Player and whatever else, I hear something in BOTH speakers(which is normal), BUT in SF 5.0f(my version) I only hear the left side. I have tried opening other mono files and I hear both sides! Also, the SF VU meters are acting like I should have output on BOTH sides! I have tried all of the different possible soundcard playback possibilities(Audiophile 24/96,w/the latest drivers) and it still only comes out of the left speaker. Any takers on this? Luces ps. I am using XP Home with all the latest updates.

Sound Forge is different from other applications in that it actually attempts to open the sound card with a mono format, rather than send the mono data to both channels. Different drivers behave differently, though they should pipe it to both channels if they let Sound Forge open the device as mono. J.
