Whenever I try to use Directx pluggins from my third party Cakewalk product, SF6 reports an error. The error alludes to the file type, in that it dislikes stero files, but then if convert to mono -- it then says it does not like mono files. And then SF6 prompts me to uninistall the pluggin -- What is going on here? Does SF6 like pluggins from other developers -- it seems to allow Isotope pluggins -- very nicely. Please comment -- thanks |

I beleive it is due to the cakewalk demo, the plugins only work in the demo app not outside it. I had a similar thing using project 5 demo, the DX instruments worked in project 5 but failed if I tried them in anything else Cheers Paul |

I have full versions of Sonar2.2XL and Project5. None of the Project5 plugins with the exception of Spektral transformer and most of the updated effects (FXreverb, chorus, delay etc.) do not work in my SF6. The older cakewalk plug ins work, as do the mastering compressor and eq in Sonar and some of the newer plug ins that focus on dynamics such as the FXDynamics processor. If someone has a way of making the newer Cakewalk FX work in SF, please let us know. Take Care |

He guys don't hold me to this, (It's been a while) A friend of my partner George, who works for Cakewalk told him that some of the DX plugins that come bundled with Cakewalk do not run in other DX apps. They are only for Cakewalk. Tony Mac |

Also, some of the plug-ins shipped with Cakewalk products are DXi (synth) plug-ins, not standard DirectX transform plug-ins. Sound Forge doesn't support DXi plug-ins (though ACID 4.0 does). J. |

maybe cakewalk is not worth for now? I have ACID, Vegas and SF6 -- I just figured that I would give it a try? How are you guys using this program -- I really have not dug deep into yet!!! |

I only keep it in my room incase someone has a Sonar project. I don't think the other guys even have it installed. I know George gave his Cubase and Sonar to University of Tx El Paso. Ron Jones |

Just signed on to this board so my answer is a bit late. I emailed DSP/FX (OEM of the fx... Sonar plugins) technical support. They confirmed that those plugins have special hooks so that they only work in Sonar. One black mark for Cakewalk products as far as I'm concerned. Besard |

Well it was a 'Demo' seq product you got them from, eh ? A little bit harsh .... With a little ingenuity you could surely find some demo 'real' versions, and if you like them, buy the real thing ? Or are Cake's plugins actually downloadable in external demo form separately ? geoff |

These plugins come bundled with Sonar 1.3, which I bought. Not a 'demo'. Like I said, the DSP/FX people, who are the actual author of the plugins, confirmed the exclusive usage in Sonar. Besard |
