What happened to OPT support? What happened to GenieSys? Is Acid a dying app?

Acid is definitely NOT a dying app. Geniesys, well that's another story. Too bad really; I never got a chance to really check out their stuff, and from what I've seen on this forum, it was really good.
OPT is having a hard time starting up, but SoFo will continue using that technology in upcoming versions of Acid. Do a search for OPT in the Acid forum. It was discussed just a couple weeks ago I think.

thanks for the reply..... OPT does seem to be dead... i did a google search and its all pretty old......

So, is Acid going to improve midi implementation in the future? Or is it to remain a loop app? It is without a doubt the best loop app out there, but for actual "music creation" its pretty weak in it present form....

"It is without a doubt the best loop app out there,..."
Yes, without a doubt!
Midi implementation WILL improve with every version. I'm still upset I didn't check out Geniesys before, but...
As far as being weak for music creation...I don't think so myself. The chopper is excellent to create new sounds from existing loops. I've also used my midi keyboard with free software synths from the web, then edited that in Acid.
It depends what you're looking for I guess.

Guy's
You are not missing that much if you have Acid 4.0d.
I picked it up GenieSys OPT Midi Editor to do CC with my VSTI's, you can now do that in 4.0d

I Think we will see some very COOL stuff from Acid 5.

Acid 4 was a test of the water.
