Can everyone tell me how can I eliminate the voice to obtain the negative with Sound Forge?
Thanks!

"Obtain the negative"? Ummm, do you mean invert a channel? This is found under Process / Invert. If this isn't what you're asking then i don't understand your question.

Are you hoping to eliminate the voice from a mixed stereo song? Sorry, probably can't be done and result in anything worth listening to. You could invert one channel, then mix the two channels together into mono. That would eliminate anything that was dead-center in the mix, which often includes the lead vocal. You'll be left with any effects added to the lead, most likely back ground vocals, any instrumentation that was off center, and lots of weird ghostly effects. You'll also lose any instrumentation that is close to center. In general, the results sound pretty much like crud.

To add to what Chienworks said, when you "eliminate" vocals from a stereo mix, you more than likely will also eliminate frequencies vocals happen to share with other instruments (like guitar, for example). The end result is usually blah.

Even more pertinent to those interested in removing vocals, usually you will remove all of the kick and the attack on the rest of the drums and bass not to mention the nice flanging effect that's created. Hip hop, rap or anything karaoke with no drums and bass and a swirly phasing flange effect is... well..., er..., sucks.

I was thinking the FBI might have some nice filter audio software to remove street noises or something to get focus on the investigation.

Hey the bottom line is that vocal removal is really impossible after the mastered stereo mix. There are some unique conditions where vocals can be supressed, while obtaining an "acceptable" audio file.
