Subject:why won't acid pro 4.0 install

so i've got acid pro 4.0, after finally upgrading from 2.0. running win98. i try to install it, and i get this message "acid has unmet requirements" it's missing directx 8.0 runtime. wtf? i've got directx 9.0 installed! what gives!?

ACID 4 requires a min of Win98SE.
