Subject:Memory???

I¨m recording from an external source in my 2405 toshiba satellite laptop ...but when I play what I¨ve recorded it plays lake a scratched cd...Why?? I think I have enough memory Its a PIV.. I recorded again and I saw de timer going like this 1,2,3 and then sttoped and jump to 7,8,9 and is there when the problem happens ...

If the recording timer jumps like you've indicated it's simply that your laptop can't keep up with the rate the external device is sending.

Likely causes:
Background processes such as anti-virus, ms messenger, etc interrupting
Severly fragmented hard drive, de-frag and try again.
Low physical memory free resulting in excessive swapping (close all unnecessary programs while recording)
Etc.
