I think it happened after I installed the sony dvd burner. But Im not sure any drivers even got installed. The Sony DRX 510UL....
Its an external firewire /USB drive. All I remember installing was the burning software...but maybe Windows detected and instaleed something else. I have since been getting the error with no burner plugged in.
It doesn't surprise me that Veritas is involved. We've had several reports of their software breaking ours. It's an issue that we are attempting to deal with.
Well, you were right....I remove Veritas and the problem is gone.
Whats a bummer though is that was great burning software, it enabled me to do DVD RW and overwrite file on DVDs.....Is there any other software for the sony that will let me do that?
I'm not sure exactly what comes with the drive. But my guess is that there won't be something else to do the same thing.
I'm hoping we can figure out why they break our software. Perhaps you should contact their tech support and see if there are updates for their software. (just a suggestion)
