Subject:Who here is using Grado phones?

Okay, I know that I have been probably beating this topic to death, but I promise THIS is the LAST time!!!!

I am looking for some cans to mix on (yeah I know...you need monitors), but like many small time fish I have a VERY limited budget and less than condusive mixing situations and so I HAVE to use phones!!!!! SO this is the last time(I swear) that I will ask anyone to post their suggestions! However, I have been doing some research and have seen really great reviews on the GRADO SR125 phones and I was hoping that someone here might chime in IF they have ANY experience with the GRADO line.

Obviously, the dsired "flat" response is prefered for mixing and I was just wondering who here has had the opportunity to do some serious comparisons on phones. Unfortunately, any retailer I go to tries to get me into a set of monitors and they don't really have any good listening situations for headphones.

Okay, this is IT!!! I will shut up now and hope that I get some replies and then I will just make the dive into some phones! Thanks again, Luces

Check out the above thread...no listing of Grado, but the Sony is highly recommended.

I've used the Grado SR60 headphones for a number of years -- they are excellent. If I were to lose them, I'd buy another pair.

i have a pair of 125's nothing is better than grado for the money. hell even for twice the money nothing beats them. just pull the trigger dude. 60,80,125,225 who cares. the differences are subtle but noticeable. i picked mine by price. after hearing a pair of 80's i fell in love. i had a little more money to spend so i did. there going to blow away any headphone sub $500 headphone and almost any pair of speakers under $1000. very flat. very natural. very full at the same time. oh and your cd collection will sound brand new. you can hear everything. and a ton of stuff youve never heard on your favorite albums. its wild.

enjoy. oh and sony? hehe cute.
