The audio is someone speaking and in the background behind them is a telephone persistantly ringing. I have done some noise gate, but the phone is still there. Are there any other ideas? or am I just out of luck? I have Sound Forge 6.0 btw. Suzanne |

Noise Reduction plug-in maybe? If you can get a sample of the phone ringing by itself, it would be ideal. I've never tried mind you, but I think that would be the best bet. Apart from that you're kind of asking to remove a part of a song after it's been mixed, only worded differently. M |

I'm new to this post but I think I can answer your question about the sample of the phone. Noise Reduction plug in has a utility for capturing a sample of the noise print you are wanting to get rid of. You simply select a small area that has only the phone ringing and check the box "Capture Noise Print". You then press preview and it will capture only the selected material. To transfer the selected noise print to the rest of the file for cleanup you will then have to "select all". The software then proceeds to reduce the frequencies captured. This is usually very productive but I've never tried it with anything like a telephone. |
