I've been using acid pro 4.0 for 6 months or so, and today i've been getting an error. Says, The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications. Well when everything is closed it still won't open. it gets to about the spash screen then, gives me that error. I tried using my old acid music 3.0 and it works fine.

Thanks for the help

Sounds like it's possibly a sound card driver issue.

Have you updated them recently?
Have you tried reinstalling ACID?
Have you added any new devices to your system?

perhaps your project file uses so many loops it's using up all your memory? ;)

that's really strange that your suddenly low on memory after only six months of use - I know that there's a way to allocate more ram to your soundcard drivers as well but as I haven't needed to do it in about a year & a half I can't quite remember how- let us know how this goes.

Anybody ever find a solution to this problem.
I have the same issue.
I have a Dell computer and just updated my RAM to 768 and it still happens.
It worked fine for months and then all of a sudden I started getting the low memory message.

Thanks!

Funny this came up. If you are using XP there is some kind of thing that happens and apparently the way around this is to set up a New User account in Win XP with administrative rights(the ability to change stuff).

I have been using AP since ver.2.0 in Win98se and I never had a problem,no matter what soundcard or drivers, then 2weeks ago I upgraded to XP w/AP 4.0e
and suddenly.....boom! I get this error after about 10 days of use with XP. It had me soooo perplexed that I called Tech support (which has always been helpful to and for me) and they told me that it has happened in some XP systems and to just create a new user account and .....so far it is stable! Hope this helps out. Luces

Thanks Luces. That worked.
Anyone using Windows XP read this.
You must creat a new user account in XP with Admin. rights. Otherwise ACID won't launch after about 10 days. (It will attempt to launch but you get a low memory error... trust me it has nothing to do with your RAM)
Anyone from Sonic Foundry: Are you guys going to fix this bug?
THanks!
