I have a continuous live recording that has a lot of talking from the band between the songs. This talking is too loud compared to the music and so I use Graphic Dynamics with these settings to reduce the level in these loud sections: Attack = 0ms, Release = 10ms, Threshold = -15db (varies depending), Ratio=4:1, Gain = 0db, Snyc Stereo Gain = checked. After this is done, there is a noticable crackle in the wave section where I applied it. This is definetely being introduced due to the Graphic Dynamics process. If I reduce the volume using a Graphic Face there is no crackle introduced. Thanks for any advice.
