Hi all, this is a strange one. Almost everything in SF has a perfect redraw an my acer AL 707, exept the gray area at the end of a project /wave area. ( i mean when you shrink a wave , ther's space left to the right, shown in a gray colour which btw is the only colour you cannot choose or change). Well that very gray area is always "running", meaning sort of not in horizontal sync, which is really annoying. Now, before you jump zo conclusions, no other app does it, nor any other part of SF ( textured background etc etc) I'd be happy for any hint. Thanks Claude |

The first thing you can try, although i don't think this will help, is to play with the video compatibility modes in Sound Forge. Click on Options / Preferences / General. There are two entries named "Compatible draw mode" and "Compatible scroll mode". I don't think either of these will make a difference though. Right beneath that is an option to "Show a textured background". Checking this will change the solid grey to a stucco-ish looking background. This hopefully won't crawl on your screen. If you want to have a different background then there is a somewhat complex procedure you can follow. I posted it over a year ago here: /forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=3&MessageID=106762 Warning: this is a complicated procedure that involves mucking about in the internal preferences. It's not recommended unless you're really comfortable with altering low-level software configurations. |

Chienworks , as you thought that didn't help. it is by tha way, not the empty area you can put a textured background in, but the unused gray area of a wave display, the one where the center line continues but the waveframe ends, the only colour you have no influence on, and i wonder why... maybe a tech could help? Thanx |

This is a known issue in Sound Forge 4.5 and 5.0. It's harmless, but was fixed in 6.0. You might try changing the refresh rate on your monitor if it is particularly irksome. J. |
