i'm sure this is a common question but i couldn't find a good answer. i'm helping out a friend who is not into computers. to free up some space, we moved a bunch of loops to another drive (d:). now when we open a project it says it can't find the loops, and then we relocate them, and all is well. however, we have like a bazillion projects and i don't want to do this over and over again. computers are better at loops than humans. so, is there a tool that will fix up the paths in an ACID project file when the loops have moved? for example one that will convert project files into 'ACID project with external audio' or otherwise restore sanity to the paths in many project files. i'm sorry i don't have any more details like the version, i'm just trying to help a friend. |

I believe you're SOL on doing a general fix for all of them -- you're gonna have to do each song individually. I had the same problem with my loops drive (firewire) constantly changing letters while still on 98SE. One solution is to check the box to save media with file, or savit it as an acd-zip file, though it will significantly increase harddrive space per song. |

Jess is indeed right. You will have to do it on a project-by-project basis, or use the "copy media with project" option under File>Save As on the menu bar. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

well that's lame. i know the paths are just strings inside the project file, it should be easy to edit. what's really lame is that acid doesn't learn, i open one file, find the loops, and then i have to do the same for the next file, even though it is using the same loops. thanks Jess and mD, i know about the save as options. problem is converting a bunch of projects to that setting. i am surprised that i couldn't find any thirdparty utilities for managing ACID projects. do they just not exist or am i just not finding them? |
