I would imagine a task like that would be complex, especially if done in real time with digital audio. I would also imagine it could be done in conjunction with the Loop Region by stating a beginning tempo on the mark in point and an ending tempo on the mark out point and have ACID calculate in between. I can't picture using an envelope, mostly because of what's already in place. (Tempo changes are done with markers.) If you want to suggest it as well, try the product suggestion form.
