I just downloaded Acid Music and I can't find the instruments in the explorer window. I think they are called Media or Tracks

It only shows items under the desktop icon.

Use the Explorer like you would the Explorer in Windows. There should be an address bar in the upper left of the Explorer window. Click the drop-down arrow and click on "My Computer". You should then be able to browse your system's drives.

Have you downloaded any loop (instrument) files yet? The ACID installation doesn't come with any. If you bought the boxed version then you would get a separate sample CD with some loops. If you've downloaded ACID then you didn't get any. Go to http://www.acidplanet.com/tools/8packs/ and download this week's 8Pack. That will give you a few starter loops to play with.

Adding to what Chienworks said, you can get to the 8Packs by clicking here. There are a host of other sites and sources too, like Pocket Fuel and Acidfanatic. Computer Music magazine (and other similar magazines) usually have a CD-ROM with free loops.
