Subject:Anyone using 4.0e & WCWD with surround?

This applies to surround projects in Acid 4.0e using the Windows Classic Wave Driver.

I've put in a great deal of time attempting to resolve this problem since 4.0e came out. Im curious if anyone else has a similar setup to my system and can tell me if they have the same problem.

I've got a Santa Cruz card on Windows XP, so I'm using WCWD for surround playback. One-shots and loops (media-based tracks) seem unaffected. VSTi tracks, however, have problems following the volume envelopes and surround keyframes. The VSTi tracks will begin playing at the set volume and surround locale from the curent cursor position, but later on in the score, as volume envelopes or keyframes change, the VSTi tracks essentially ignore them. I can have an instrument playing, and have it set for fading out to silence towards the end, but when played back, it remains at the same volume throughout. I tried rendering the various surround projects into the 6 separate channels, and the volume and keyframes appear to be working in the resulting WAV files, but they don't work during playback in Acid.

Any ideas here?

Not sure here.

Could something be interfering with playback? What if you tried turning video acceleration down a notch or two (or even off)?

I finally went to check for an update, and downloaded the Acid Pro 4.0f update. The release notes specifically mention the type of problem I was having, and, believe it or not, it has corrected the problem!!!

Kudos go to the programming team on that release!
Thank you, thank you!
