Howdy:

I don't have the latest and the greatest version of Acid Music, but it works for me. Yet, I'm having what I hope is a simple problem.

I have been trying to modify a track with the bpm tempo bar, but as near as I can tell, there's not difference between 75 bmp or 200. I've tried the stretch too, but either I'm doing it wrong or the compression's not right, because while it does slow the tempo, it also makes the track sound like you're hearing it through a can. What I'd really like is for the same rsult like I get when I run it through Siren and use the Time Stretch bar. I don't get the same "in a can" sound. Any suggestions?

Also, the 2.0 download that mades it version "d" says that it adds support for .mp3 files, but when I try to pull up a file, it still looks for only .wavs, .acds or .aifs. What's the problem?

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

It's been ages since I touched ACID 2.0, but I'll try to help anyway.

The echo artifacts you're getting are a result of slowing the track down too much. More info on the subject can be found here.

You're probably wondering why SIREN can do it well while ACID can't. One reason may be because of the version of ACID that you're using; later versions of ACID are much better at it (especially beginning with ACID 3.0) than previous versions. I would imagine SIREN is also geared to concentrate on just one media file only, while ACID has to concentrate on several (or even more). These are all just conjectures, though.

Not sure what's causing your MP3 problem. Have you tried uninstalling your current install and just installing the 2.0d update? (The update can actually install as a full version; be sure to keep your serial key handy.)

HTH,
Iacobus
