Hey there, I just recently upgraded to XP Home(successfully, thanks to many on this forum), but I now realize that there is nooooooo getting around the fact that I need a new vid card. My current one is an ATI RageIIc(at least 5 yrs old) and I notice that when I am working in Acid once I get above 48K,24 bit the cursor seems "sticky" and there are weird shadows and just a bunch of crap in general. I have tried adjusting a bunch of settings, but the results are the same....crap! I am just trying to get back to the point where I can work in the 96/24 realm again using Acid 4.0e. I can do it in 4.0c, but not in 4.0d or 4.0e. I like working in the 4.0e version b/c the Asio and VSTi stuff as well as midi stuff is just better. Anyhow, if you cool cats have any suggestions for a good, affordable vid card that is working well with your systems and Acid please chime in. I would really like to stay under $100.00 All of the drivers for OS and bios are current. Thanks, Luces. My system: AthlonXP 1800+ ECS K75SAPro (mobo) SiS 735 Sound chip and driver(on mobo) VIA AGP accelerator and driver(on mobo) XP Home Audiophile 24/96 sound card 384 megs ram |

I'd say almost any solution from ATI would be a pretty good bet. (They have Radeon series cards for under $100.) Go for AGP if you can. HTH, Iacobus |
