I'm looking at the demo of Acid 4.0. What's the story with regard to scrubbing? The only other thread I've seen asking about this never received a reply. I know that Sonic Foundry does it beautifully but I suspect that, because any variant on the verb to 'scrub' doesn't appear in any of Acid's help documentation, it's a no-no. Or is there a plugin or i/o controller or something that would facilitate scrubbing? The rest of the program looks great from initial inspection; shame there's always some niggling omission. Ta! |

Oh, all I was referring to was the ability to move your position on the timeline by dragging with the mouse. If you do that in Sound Forge, you can adjust the marker position by very small increments that way, as well as using the arrow keys. If you try & drag like that in Acid, you physically move the position of the entire track over time; it seems you have to physically click with the mouse to set the time position, or use the arrow keys. I haven't quite figured out the chopper tool as yet Pardon my ignorance; I was looking to see if I could use Acid as a kind of multi-track version of SoundForge without the additional expense of something more heavyweight. Obviously it's a slightly different paradigm. |

I thought scrubbing was possible with something like the ShuttlePRO. (I don't have one myself but do know what you're talking about.) Otherwise, there isn't a way to do it outright that I know of. It is, indeed, a different paradigm. HTH, Iacobus |

Yeah, this ShuttlePro does keep cropping up a lot in threads, and it looks like they're quite versatile; cross-application and so on. I had been thinking about test-driving one with my local supplier to see if they made a good investment - for video, not audio. If I find anything out I'll post it here. Thanx for the comment! |
