Hi. I just recently got Sound Forge 6. I play acoustic guitar. What I want to do is just lay down my songs, with my vocals, my rythym guitar and possibly some acoustic solo's over it. I have Sound Forge 6 and I have Acid Pro 4.0. I notice Acid Pro 4.0 has drum loops which I wouldnt mind incorporating into my songs. I find this technology, absolutely brilliant, and would appreciate any help anyone could give. What ive been doing is laying down the rythym track on its own....is there a way to record my voice separately while playing back the rythym track, and the same thing for the solo?? |

sounds more like you are trying to multitrack, which is what Vegas does. Sound Forge is mostly an editor. I'm sure there is a way to do sometyhing similar to what your are asking but then there will be no way to mix it really i wouldn't think. |

Vegas® Video LE 3.0 is available free to registered owners of SF 6.0. This will let you overdub. (multitrack) |

If you are just recording yourself one track at a time, Acid works great for this. It can play back multiple tracks (obviously) but records only (up to) one stereo track at a time. If you get creative you can use the stereo recording ability to record two mono tracks at a time. Vegas is what you need for multi-track RECORDING though. If you want to record several people at once or whatever. |
