Subject:Which 24/96 driver do I use?

Well in an attempt to maximize my new XP setup, I went to the M-Audio site to see what the driver status was for my Delta Audiophile 24/96 card and discovered that there are 2 releases for my card. One says it is a WMD 510000029(?) release and the other is an updated beta of an earlier Acid fix. This is the one(the older beta version) that I installed when I set up XP and it seems okay. I believe Iocabus was kind enough to send it to me, because it had been removed from M-Audio site for a while. So I installed the older beta version for Acid Asio fix. Should I just use the driver with the most recent date? That would be the updated beta fix, or should I use the most recent NON_BETA version which is the WMD file? Anyhow, just wondering what is the best one. Thanks again, luces. |

Both are actually good. I believe the supported version (the 29's) have some features that the beta (the 44x2's) doesn't have, like inverting phase. Playback is sometimes wiggy in Sound Forge with the supported version, but other than that, I can't think of any other issues. HTH, Iacobus |
