I have ACID open with two instances of Absynth loaded and playing two different patches simulaneouly right now.

What exactly is the process you are following to get the behavior you describe?

Do you have the latest update of Absynth?

...Also, do you have MIDI Track 1 routed to Absynth instance #1, and MIDI Track 2 routed to Absynth instance #2?

Absynth will hold two seperate presets (in the same .glo file) in two different instances for me only if I -don't- open the Absynth GUI in Acid (as soon as I double click to open an instance in Acid both both instances revert to the first preset in the file) changing presets in the engine window works and they seem to stick. Absynth 2 is apparently much better integrated with the VSTi standard and maybe won't be so finiky. For what its worth NI's Reactor doesn't work properly in Acid either (saved .acd file doen't recall Reactor as part of the project and you get the DLS instead) haven't gone much futher than that with it alltuogh I think I have a work around. FM 7 works like a charm with Acid and Battery is chuging right along (though I haven't tried to open more than one port) yet, anyways heres to getting em all working.

Never click on a little pink square that has the word Absynth next to it.
To set or change presets open up the Absynth engine window (buttons on the task bar next to the Acid button) you can do anything you need to do from that window and Absynth will retain the presets you selected when you change focus back to the Acid window.

The Absynth engine can only support a single preset list. That is one of the main gripes about it - you can't have multiple instances referencing different sound banks - each instance must use the same bank.

I believe this problem is solved in Absynth 2 which has just been released.

Yes this is a problem..do a search for L25 to see numerous posts. I can not understand why SoFo and others do not report the same problem.

This occurs when you try to change the patch using the absynth VST soft synth bus(ses). If you change the patch using the *absynth engine* and selecting different instances you may find that it works. But again, once you double click any absy soft synth bus, it defaults back to the zero patch, grrrr.

You can only use one bank to use multi instances in acid. Go to File>New, then select the .glo file that has your desired patch, click store, then click open bank to go to a different glo file to find a different patch..click store and so on. After you are done do a save-as and name it. This way you can create your own custom 128 patch bank that is made up of patches from numerous .glo files

A friend of mine said it has been fixed in 2.0
I'm setting here playing with the plastic now debating on upgrading from 1.3.4 to 2.0
