Subject:Pitch and Time shift automation

Is there a way to automate Pitch Shift? Prefereably, the one that you see in "Track Properties" that can be set to not affect the duration. I'm comfortable with a large buffer to acheive this, but I need to lay out where it does what in the song (and sometimes I want curves, so rendering indevidual tracks is not really an option).
Along the same lines - I'd like a realtime way to modify sample length, without effecting pitch, but that is secondary to the first question.

The pitch shift effect is not automatable. Do you want to pitch bend? You could render what you need out of ACID and bring it into Sound Forge for mangling there, as Sound Forge has both a pitch shift and pitch bend effect. (Other audio editors should have this effect as well.)
