Sorry bro thats the only way as of right now. That kind of feature is on the "to do" list for version 5. Who knows when that will be.

What is your problem with recording vocals with acid?

What version of acid are you using?

What OS?

What soundcard?

Whats your computers stats? [cpu, mobo, ram, video card, hard drives]

Ed.

as a logic user for years and an avid acid head, i can honestly say recording and comping vocals in acid is much easier than recording in logic.

acid has none of this set audio path, assign input, arm track, record, go to audio editor, strip silence mess.

just hit record, name the file and set the input correctly and you're done.

of course editing in acid is a breeze.

check your audio settings. read the manual. acid is a 1000 times easier to setup than logic.

i have a amdxp 1800, 512 ram, running xp pro. soundcard: delta66

and the thing i dont like recording in acid is i cant use plugins to compress vocals imediatly insted of running a plugin during playback or doing it in soundforge.
some of the most improtant plugins dont work *(tracks). (vst)
midi instruments are slow and they when running them they add to the unstability of the program.

ive been using acid since the get go 1.0
acid has the abiilty to run with all the big doggs... (pro tools, logic, nuendo)
i wish sonic foundry would come out with a program that is for serious studio users only.
not kids and studio users.. you know what i mean.
acid shouldnt even be on the same level as "goofy ass fruity loops".

no other program offers the sequencing ability that acid offers. and ive been through almost all of them some close but no cigar.

so should i be recording vocals in acid and exspecting pro results? is there a way to record effects with vocals via plugin? somebody help im getting confused about the whole program situation.

thanks again

"acid shouldnt even be on the same level as "goofy ass fruity loops"."

Comparing chalk and cheese. In fact Acid and FLStudio compliment each other perfectly
FLStudio is good in areas that Acid sucks and vice versa.

You can do all this in the (goofy ass) FLStudio

i personally think that while recording audio you should keep the signal chain to a minimum. i use a regular analog compressor while tracking in acid and i don't think i would feel comfortable using a plug-in for everything. while recording vocals it's best just to use light compression just make sure you don't get any clipping.

the vocal chain i use most is a large-diaphram condenser mic into a tube pre-amp into a tube compressor set at light to medium compression into my sound card. passing through these stages gives me a hot signal and a bit of tube texture without clipping. it would take about 3 or 4 plugins and a lot of time for trial and error just to get close to the same sound.

and who wants to worry about getting the vocal sound right through plugins just to record a take you might not even use?

get some decent outboard gear set some knobs and hit record and you'll be much happier and productive.

plug-ins can't replace everything...yet.

yeah i guess you guys were right (plugins cant replace everything) computers are too unstable and its not worth running all types of plugins at the same time only to result in a crash....... i recently went and got some outboard goodies to handle the vocals...
now my last problem is deciding what to do with acid (do i just use it to sequence tracks or do both mixing(vocals, tracks)and sequencing)

ive been thinking about sequencing in acid and recording in "nuendo 2.0"
reason being is acid is by far the best sequencer and nuendo 2.0 is "supposed" to be just as good as protools..... should i go through all the trouble?

got a question though... i was hoping that the acid programmers would be leaning more towards (protools) but i read that they are hooking up with sony..... does that mean acid is gonna be available in a "grocerystore" next.. what does it mean??

one more question ive tryed my fair share of programs but not in depth enough to make final judgements about all of them. do all audio programs give pop and click and tick during playback... or are some good @ utilizing you cpu power to the best of its ability?
somebody help im getting confrused

p.s. fruity loops is still a gay ass program..... and if your gay enough to get offended by me calling fruity loops gay shut the fudge up replying to my posts.

lol

"i need help bad i not having great success recoding vocals into acid."

well, im sorry, if you cant figure this out then you will have NO idea how to do it in Nuendo 2, and you obviously need to spend more time looking at all these tons of programs you use, and perhaps they wont see as "gay ass" ;)

why dont you spend some money on something and get an outboard compressor?

it helps soooo much, believe me.
