Subject:why so many acid titles?

I am pretty new to Acid so this is probably a stupid question. I noticed there are SO many titles: Acid 3.0, acid pro 3.0, acid pro 4.0, acid style (with a few styles under that). I have acid 3.0. it doesn't say pro so is it different than pro? If anyone could shed some light, please do. And could someone make a list of all the title actually provided by sonic foundry?

Why so many titles? ACID's been around a long time, and gone through a lot of incarnations.

There is ACID Pro 1.0, ACID pH1(a.k.a ACID Music 1.0), ACID pH2(a.k.a ACID Style 1.0), ACID Music 1.0, ACID Style 1.0.

There is ACID Pro 2.0, ACID Music 2.0, and ACID Style(including DJ, Techno, and Latin content libraries) 2.0.

There is ACID Pro 3.0, ACID Music 3.0, ACID Style (including Techno and DJ) 3.0, and ACID XPress 3.0.

There is also ACID Pro 4.0.

Pro is the professional level product. Music is the more-powerful consumer level, Style is the lighter consumer level. XPress is the free version.

On top of all that, there are Screenblast versions of ACID, which are consumer versions, whose feature-sets are not the same, number for number, as the list above.

ok. someone tell me THIS. is Acid Pro (3 or 4) BETTER than acid music (any version) or DJ or any other program with "acid" in the beginning of the name? Is Pro the "full blown, no holds barred program whereas "music" or "dj" are toned-down versions? I dare ask this in this forum:.....is sound forge studio the "mother" of all sound forges?

Yes. Acid 4 PRO "Is the full blown, no holds barred program". The rest is just stuff to get your mouth watery to want more so then you'll upgrade. Soundforge studio "sounds" important but its again a weaker version than soundforge 6. It's pretty much for marketing hype.

Do an internet search and a search in this forum. You'll be surprised at the volume of avaliable loops.
