How do you make the Volume envelopes work? -ACID Product Family

Subject:How do you make the Volume envelopes work? Posted by: rock320 Date:7/7/2003 3:52:29 PM I can't get a volume envelope to open up. I have the Show Envelopes enabled and when I insert a volume envelope it is checked on the menu however the envelope itself does not show up so I can't edit it since I can't see it. I've used the volume envelopes before but getting them has mostly been by accident as I always have trouble with them. I know that when it works you can see a line across the track that you can double click to set points and fades, etc. I just can't seem to get that initial line visible no matter what I do. Help!

Make sure your cursor is on the track you want to add the envelope to. When you add the envelope, are you in the zoom out view(where you see all the tracks), or are you zoomed into the specific track you want to add the volume envelope to? If you're zoomed out all the way, you won't see the line until you zoom in. M

Reply by: rock320 Date:7/7/2003 11:12:09 PM Yes I have tried inserting the volume envelope as you said by using the right click method and also by using the insert menu - neither one works. And yes I have clicked on the track I want to put the envelope on (to not do so would be pointless). And yes I have zoomed in to the event that I am trying to put the volume envelope on so that I can do the fades, etc., like I said I have done it before - it just isn't working now for some reason. Thought maybe this problem has happened to others before and they could tell me what they did to fix it or what the problem was.

Reply by: Iacobus Date:7/8/2003 12:55:57 PM If zooming doesn't help (I couldn't imagine why it wouldn't), did you try adjusting the track's height via the track list? (Hover your mouse cursor over the top or bottom of the selected track until you see two parallel lines with a double-headed vertical arrow; click and drag to adjust.) If you still do not see the volume envelope, try refreshing the track view (F5 on your keyboard.) Also try updating your video card's drivers (if any are available). HTH, Iacobus

Reply by: rock320 Date:7/9/2003 1:00:45 PM I'm pretty sure this is not the first time you've helped me out with an answer to a problem so I want to give you a big thanks for your suggestion of the track height. I had it minimized since I was working with many tracks and that was the cause for not being able to see the envelope, as soon as I put it to normal height I was able to see the envelope. Thanks!
