Subject:VSTi Disappearing in Acid Prio 4.0(b)

I've been using Synth 1 now for quite a while in Acid 4.0(b), and it's been working pretty well. However, when I got the Cakewalk DX-VST wrapper, there were some issues with Synth 1 loading twice (once for the DXi version and once for the VSTi version), so I moved the VSTi Synth 1 folder to a different directory.

When I tried to re-scan for VSTi's in Acid, with a new directory pointing to where the new Synth 1 folder was, Synth 1 completely disappeared. All the other VSTi's were fine.

I uninstalled Acid, and the re-installed it, and it was Synth1 showed up again for one or two sessions, and then it disappeared again. I don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall Acid every time this happens. Is there a way around this?

I don't know if this was a bug that was fixed in the 4.0(c) or 4.0(d) patch, but I reluctant to install the patch because there are known issues with those patches and Sonar 2.2.

Does anyone have any insight?

Thanks!
Ian

Instead of MOVING the folder to a new directory, maybe you could try re-downloading and INSTALL it to your specified directory.
I'm just guessing...but maybe it would work.

Thanks for the tip, but the re-installation didn't work (tried multiple times in different ways).

I went out on a limb, though, and installed the 4.0(c) patch, and the problem corrected itself, and, best of all, all my Sonar 2.2 Cakewalk effects still work (so far). No problems (as of yet).

I still had to do the Sonic Foundry plug-in swap (original 4.0 DX plug-ins copied over 4.0(c) plugins) to get Sonic Foundry's plugins to work in Sonar, but I knew I'd need to do that anyway until Cakewalk comes out with the 2.3 patch.
