Subject:Audio Input Issue

All,

I just re-installed one of my audio systems due to a hard drive failure.
I am running Windows 2000 and using an AWE64 ISA card for my input
device. (Yes, it is old, but the quality is incredible!!)

When I try to record into Sound Forge, I don't get a signal. Now, to get
the signal, I have to 'select' which input to use using the Recording Properties.
(I have done this many times in the past.) However, I am not showing 'select'
options, I am showing 'mute' options, which is incorrect.

Is there a trick to getting the 'select' checkboxes to appear? I need to select
the 'Line In', so that I can start recording again.

Does anyone have an idea on why this is happening?

Thanks Much!

What you're seeing is the playback level controls. In the Windows volume control, go to the Options menu and choose Properties. Under "Adjust Volume for", choose Recording then click OK. Now you should see the record level controls with the "Select" boxes.

Actually, I am in the recording section. It still shows Mute options rather than
the 'Select' options. (Yes, I know... It's strange...)
