I'm just getting started myself, but I suggest you take a look at Extremely Abrasive Synths, Extremely Abrasive Beats, Ugly Remnants One and Two, and perhaps Industrial Toolkit, for starters. I don't have these CDs myself yet, but I've ordered some of them and am interested in getting the rest. You can often find some good deals on Ebay- I picked up a used copy of Extremely Abrasive Synths for only $15.50 US.

While I'm really a total stranger to music design, I strongly feel that just about any style of music can be "industrialized," if you will. So as industrial and industrial electronica are really my favourite genres, my opinion is that you can't really go wrong with loops CDs in general as long as you know you're getting a quality product. I'd be happy to get even some of the hip-hop and jazz-related CDs for incorporation into heavy electronica (as well as for other and their native genres). I'm also a big fan of ambient sound, so I'm looking into a lot of the film scoring-type loops CDs, as well as interesting soundscapes found on CDs such as Robin Storey's Rapoon- I figure this kind of stuff is great for designing things not all that different from Front Line Assembly backgrounds. And I'd just *love* to get my hands on Junkyard Rhythms- might be useful if you're thinking *original* industrial, as in Einstürzende Neubauten.

I'd also look into some non-Acid products- I'm currently contemplating going after the "Coldwave Developer's Kit" by a company called HardSoundz (www.hardsoundz.com/cd/hzcd116.html). Check out sample number three- sounds like something straight off of 16 Volt's "Skin." Note that you can get it for $24.99 new off Ebay, saving $5.

I suppose you're really looking for the opinion of someone who *owns* the CDs, but I'm sure others will be quick to point out if any of what I recommend isn't worth it. Personally, I'd love to find a web-resource with in depth ratings of Acid and other loops CDs. But I find that listening to all the samples and the demo songs to be a great start, at least.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

If you do a search of the forum you'll find a good bit of info on SF loop CDs and other sources of loops.
