Let's say you decide to bake a cake, you grab all the ingredients,(Milk,Eggs,Flour,Sugar,Baking Soda,Salt)you mix it all together in a bowl. Than you decide I don't want 4 eggs I only want 2. Well friend you're outta luck, because there is no such thing as an egg extractor...Level Vibes

As RK mentioned, it's quite a feat to perfectly extract vocals from a stereo mix. The reason? It's mainly because vocals share frequencies with other instruments such as guitar.

Sure, it can be faked, but it's nowhere near perfect. The vocals usually have to placed right in the center of the panning field. Of course, anything else that's in the center that shares frequencies gets taken along with it.

Your best bet is get your hands on a vocal that has been taken out of a mix before the final mixdown. If you beg well enough, some labels might you let you have just the vocal track. (Note the stress on the "might". Copyright issues galore.)

HTH,
Iacobus
