This is now sold by Cakewalk and I've heard that the latest version is buggy (with SOFO apps). Don't know if they've fixed it yet. You may still be able to get an older version from fxpansion which worked fine.

Yes, the FXpansion wrapper is now sold by Cakewalk. I have it, and it's fabulous... every parameter of each VST plugin can be automated! I mainly use it within Acid 4.0, and SoundForge 5.0.

As for contacting FXpansion, they no longer support the wrapper, and I would be *extremely* surprised if they are able to give out older versions of the software...

Yes, the FXpansion DX-VST adapter works great with SOFO apps. Unfortunately, the latest Cakewalk 4.3 Adapter(formerly FXpansion) has a bug when using SF5/6. Whenever, you attempt to close the shell of a "wrapped" VST effect it crashes the app.
The same thing happened when I was beta testing the FXpansion 4.2 versions, before it was sold to Cakewalk. I notified the FXpansion developer about this serious problem in 4.2, and was very surprised to still find the exact same problem in the, now Cakewalk 4.3 Adapter. I have gone back to the FXpansion 4.1 version and all is well again in Sound Forge 5/6. Another choice is the DirectiXer:
