Hi,

Very happy with ACID, but I thinking of investing in some new FX plugins. The Waves Plugs seem to be very popular and something of a standard. If anybody owns the Native Power Pack bundle, would they recommend as an upgrade to XFX123 as they are expensive.

Also are there any other good packs of high quality FX worth investigating?

I have Waves...I suppose it would be called Platinum (Gold,Masters,Native,Restoration, are all included) It's amazing the qualityof sound, the versatility, the GUI. All in all I'd say Waves are the best, expensive yes if you can efford them well worth the investment. There are other packs I found the are also indispensable, and the best thing about them they're FREE...

We also have the Waves Platinum for Dx and TDM. I LOVE the sound.

I use digilogue's Blue plugs, too, and am very happy with them. However, please note that they are NOT free! You can download them and use them forever for free, true, but if you find you use them regularly, you should register them. The $35 cost to register is very modest for what these plugins do, and developers will not keep developing great plugins if we don't support them.

I registered the digilogue plugin pack last week, as a matter of fact. I also donated to Tobybear for his Channel Grabber 2 plugin; Toby is a struggling developer and engineering student who has written many helpful plugins that he gives away free "but donate if you want to support my work." I'll be donating for smartelectronix's Ambience plugin soon, too. Having helped beta-test Ambience (a superb reverb plugin that rivals expensive dedicated hardware solutions), I know how much work goes into these "freebies." And having a partner who develops shareware, I know that motivation to keep developing programs tends to go way down without at least an occasional registration. So if you really like something, do the right thing!
