Subject:Question about transference of license:

I'm interested in getting involved with an Acid product, and might purchase a used copy of Music 3.0. I assume that this is sound on the basis of typical license transfer procedures, and the fact that it's the retail version of the product (as in, the registration number is printed on the inside of the manual, etc.). Additionally, licensing information can be changed easily from the client, correct (as it can in Acid XPress)? But what I'd like to know is, if that registration number has been used to upgrade an ACIDplanet membership ("become a full user"), will I not be able to use it to become a full user, myself? (I currently have a free account.) And if the key *has* been used for this, can it be "released," so to speak, by the original user deleting that account? Thank you very much! And please let me know if the Acid Music 3.0 license prevents me from doing any of what I've mentioned- but I assure you that I ask these questions in innocence, believing these practices to be fully within the law and Sonic Foundry's licensing procedures. |
