i put a post on here about form premier users. i have decided to be very open minded about this and download a trial version. i understand that there are limitations on this version. i installed it. and i tinkered around. then i downloaded the manual. and then i tried to capture and it asked me for a serial number. what gives????? do they want me to purchase their product before i try it out. the web site said the trial version will only capture 2 minutes of video. how come i have to have a serial number. what am i suposed to do now. is sonic like this on their products.??????

WHen the pop up screen came up did you highlight the dial that says "I would like to run the SOnic Foundry Vegas 4.0 demo" or did you highlight the dial that says "I have a Serial Number?"

Anyhow, if it's Vegas, don't enter a serial# and choose to try the product. You should have access to *ALL* you will have with it, except you won't be able to render.

Actuatly, isn't the vegas demo limited to no saving and no mpeg/mp3 support? I think it will let you do EVERYTHING but those. So, if you never close it you can do whatever you want. :)

You are right about the mpeg functions. They are disabled in the demo due to license restrictions. Everything else should work. I used the demo for two months before i purchased and everything ran fine. There were no capture restrictions placed by the program. At that time it was 4.0b demo..... i think.

I wonder what would happen if you downloaded vegas4 demo and the frameserver plugin then tried to render your finished film in another cheaper editing program.
