Yeah, Especially with the newest drivers that allow ACID & Logic to both work with winXP. I've done almost all of my work on this card - I got it when it came out. This includes audio recording, low latency vstis, mastering etc.

The best thing about this company is the dedication to driver updates/tech support - really first rate. They email you resposes to problems promptly.

Having only one PC for both gaming and my music composition, I'm curious to know if this card works with games fairly well, particularly in a 3D environment, etc.

Does the 2496 take over the Windows volume control like the Echo Mia? I used the volume knob on my pc keyboard alot, but after installing the Mia, I have to open the Mia console every time I want to adjust the volume.

The Audiophile, like many other cards in the pro-level category, aren't too particularly suited for gaming.

You should be able to run an Audiophile and, say, a Sound Blaster card alongside each other just fine as long as you have enough resources to go around.

Yes, the Audiophile does take over.

Yes, I think that's the whole idea of having a console. You can leave the console open to adjust as required, just as you would an outboard console.

True, but controlling the volume with your mouse (as opposed to controlling it with your keyboard) is inefficient. Programers figured out ways to assign soft synths to sliders and knobs. Why can't they do the same for sound card consoles?
